With the retirement of Shauna Colnan at the end of this year after 12 years of outstanding leadership of International Grammar School (IGS), the School Board seeks to appoint her successor as Principal.

IGS’s history in its early years was a remarkable journey and the School’s success today is a testament to our founder, Professor Reg St Leon. Equally remarkable was the concept upon which an IGS education was based, and which guides the School today. We are an internationally minded, independent, secular, Early Learning to Year 12 school which serves our local community. Languages are fundamental to our education programs, not only enriching students’ linguistic capability from early learning onwards but also reinforcing their cultural curiosity and understanding of the world.

Our learning programs are distinctive, as is the level of care for every one of our 1,324 students,



enabling each to find their place and have a sense of belonging whatever their needs. This spirit of inclusion is a hallmark of the School – we speak of ‘unity through diversity’. The dedication and passion of IGS’s staff is unparalleled. Our students speak of the warm, supportive relationships they have with their teachers who go to great lengths to meet each student where they are and personalise their learning experience. Our new Principal will lead a vibrant, dynamic community. They will build on our current mission, values and achievements, and continue the inspiring learning, care for every person and sense of connectedness that are central to IGS.
