We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Personal Injury Lawyer with approximately minimum 5+ years' post-admission experience to join our Workers Compensation team. The successful candidate will manage a diverse caseload of workers compensation and common law matters, provide high-quality legal services to clients, and work closely with senior practitioners to develop their litigation and advocacy skills. This role offers exposure to the Personal Injury Commission (PIC), hands-on file management, structured mentoring, and a clear pathway for career advancement.

Key responsibilities

- Manage a portfolio of workers compensation matters from inception through to resolution
- Also, manage a portfolio of common law matters which may be derived from the workers compensation matters
- Develop and implement case strategies to achieve optimal client outcomes
- Conduct legal research and provide accurate advice on workers compensation and common law entitlements and related issues
- Draft legal documents, correspondence, submissions, witness statements, applications, and settlement documentation
- Prepare matters for conferences, mediations, conciliations, and hearings
- Appear before the Personal Injury Commission and participate in settlement negotiations where appropriate, and court proceedings as required
- Ensure all matters are managed in accordance with legislative requirements,



court and commission deadlines, and firm procedures
- Deliver professional, timely, and empathetic legal services to clients
- Maintain accurate file notes, records, and time entries
- Ensure compliance with all professional, ethical, and regulatory obligations

About you

- Admission as a Solicitor in Current South Wales
- Current NSW Practising Certificate
- Minimum 3 years' post-admission experience in personal injury law
- Demonstrated experience in workers compensation matters and other areas of personal injury areas such work injury damages, motor vehicle accidents, and public liability claims. Exposure to medical negligene is not essential.
- Strong understanding of NSW workers compensation legislation and Personal Injury Commission procedures
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities
- High level of attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- Experience appearing before the Personal Injury Commission
- Advocacy or dispute resolution experience
