Cablenet Industries is expanding its civil construction capability and establishing a dedicated Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) crew.

We are currently seeking applications for the following positions:

HDD Offsiders
n
The roles will support telecommunications infrastructure projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
n
About the roles
n
Depending on your position and experience, your responsibilities may include:
n
n
- Operating horizontal directional drilling equipment
n
- Tracking and locating drill heads
n
- Setting up drilling equipment, tooling and work areas
n
- Mixing and managing drilling fluids
n
- Potholing and identifying underground services
n
- Installing telecommunications conduits
n
- Completing daily plant checks and site documentation
n
- Maintaining equipment and keeping work areas organised
n
- Working safely around existing underground infrastructure
n
- Supporting the crew to complete works efficiently and to a high standard
n
n
What we are looking for
n
For Drillers and Trackers:
n
n
- Previous HDD experience in telecommunications, utilities or civil construction
n
- Good knowledge of underground services and safe excavation practices
n
- Ability to read plans and understand bore profiles
n
- Solid attention to safety, quality and equipment care
n
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew
n
n
For Offsiders:
n
n
- Civil construction or telecommunications experience is preferred but not essential
n
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
n
- Physically capable and comfortable working outdoors
n
- Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions
n
- Interest in developing a long-term career in HDD and civil construction
n
n
The following will be highly regarded:
n
n
- Construction Industry White Card
n
- HR or HC truck licence
n
- Excavator or other relevant plant tickets
n
- First Aid, Traffic Management or Rail Industry Worker qualifications
n
- Experience working within telecommunications or utility networks
n
n
