What you will do

n

As Justice Officer – Offender Services, you will support prisoner welfare and program delivery at the Metropolitan Remand Centre.

n

You will help prisoners access support services, orientation programs and referrals before returning to the community.

n

You will:

n

n
- provide practical welfare support and respond to prisoner requests in a timely manner
n
- deliver group orientation and information sessions for prisoners
n
- prepare clear case notes and recommendations about prisoner needs and programs
n
- work with internal staff and external services to arrange referrals and support
n
- contribute to safe and humane correctional services while supporting rehabilitation.
n

About you

n

You do not need formal qualifications for this role. Experience in a correctional setting is helpful but not required.

n

You should also have:

n

n
- strong skills using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
n
- the resilience to work in a challenging and changing environment
n
- a respectful approach when working with people from diverse backgrounds
n




- the ability to solve problems, manage tasks and work well within a team.
n
