About the role

n

This is an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Litigation Lawyer (2-3 years PAE) to take ownership of complex commercial and insolvency matters within a highly regarded Melbourne CBD firm. You will work closely with Partners on high-profile cases, engage directly with clients, and represent matters across all Courts and Tribunals. With autonomy, exposure to a diverse range of disputes, and strong mentoring from experienced litigators, you will play a pivotal role in a collaborative, high-performing litigation team.

Duties

n

In this role you will:-

n

n
- Lead and manage complex insolvency and commercial litigation matters.
n
- Work directly with Partners on high-profile cases involving liquidators, directors, secured creditors, and private corporate clients.
n
- Take ownership of a diverse range of commercial and business disputes.
n
- Represent clients in all Courts & Tribunals, including Supreme,



County, Federal, and VCAT.
n
- Attend and contribute to Creditors' meetings, mediations, and strategic case discussions.
n
- Operate with autonomy while benefiting from excellent Partner mentoring and team support.
n
- Be a pivotal member of a high-performing, cooperative litigation team.

Skills & experience

n

Ideally, you will have:-

n

n
- 2-3 years PAE in commercial litigation matters such as contractual disputes (e.g. building/construction, property/lease, commercial contract) and insolvency (receiverships, corporate restructuring, liquidations, voluntary administrations, bankruptcies, loan recovery, and securities enforcement).
n
- Strong technical and drafting skills, underpinned by diligence, integrity, and a client-focused mindset.
n
- Exceptional communication skills, able to engage confidently with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
n
- The ability to navigate complex transactional structures and manage competing priorities across files, clients, billing, and professional development.
n
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach, contributing to business and professional development and mentoring junior colleagues.
n
- Well-developed negotiation skills and a sharp attention to detail.
