As Duty Manager of the Glenferrie Hotel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient day-to-day operations of this vibrant hospitality establishment located in Hawthorn, VIC. This full-time position is integral to the hotel's success, providing a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the strategic objectives of the business.

What you'll be doing

- Overseeing the daily running of the hotel, including managing staff, delegating tasks, and troubleshooting any issues that arise
n
- Ensuring exceptional customer service is delivered to all guests, addressing any concerns or complaints in a timely and professional manner
n
- Monitoring and maintaining stock levels, placing orders, and managing supplier relationships
n
- Adhering to all relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations to maintain a safe and compliant environment
n
- Assisting with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures
n
- Providing mentorship and training to junior staff, supporting their professional development
n
- Collaborating with the broader management team to achieve the hotel's strategic objectives

What we're looking for

- Substantial experience (2+ years) in a similar duty manager or senior hospitality supervisory role, preferably within the hotel industry
n
- Excellent customer service orientation,



with the ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure
n
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a track record of effectively motivating and developing teams
n
- Proficiency in operational and financial management, including inventory control, budgeting, and reporting
n
- Sound knowledge of relevant health, safety, and licensing regulations in the hospitality sector
n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with guests, staff, and other stakeholders
n
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required
