The Chance

n

VIXA has been exclusively retained by this firm which has an established private M&A; and corporate advisory practice and is now seeking a partner to lead its public company work - takeovers, schemes, ECM and listed-company advisory.

n

The firm has a strong client base and the referral network and is seeking a partner with the technical pedigree and personal profile to lead it the corporate public work.

n

The incoming partner will work across a combination of the following, depending on specialisation:

n

- Public M&A;, including takeovers,



schemes of arrangement and control transactions
n
- Equity capital markets, including IPOs, placements, rights issues and secondary raisings
n
- Listed-company advisory, including continuous disclosure, ASX Listing Rules, board and governance advice
n
- Corporate advisory to family offices, founders and mid-market businesses preparing for a liquidity event or listing
n
- Transactions in the energy and resources and mining sectors, where the incoming partner has that experience
n

The role carries leadership responsibilities, including building and mentoring a team, active participation in the partnership and a direct hand in shaping the firm's corporate strategy.

About You

n

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Partner (or experienced Special Counsel) who is ready for a strategic move and can demonstrate the following:

n

n
- 8-25 years' post-admission experience with a substantive public M&A; and/or ECM focus
n
- Technical capability across takeovers, schemes, capital raisings and listed-company advisory
n
- Energy and resources or mining sector expertise advantageous
n
- A portable practice with a current book of business of $1M+, or a clear pathway to it
n
- Established relationships with listed companies, boards, investment banks, corporate advisers or private equity
n
- A track record of business development and the profile to continue building in the Brisbane market
n
- Experience from a top-tier or leading mid-tier firm
n
- The commercial instinct and interpersonal credibility to lead a practice within an established, collegiate partnership
