Eight-Mile Plains State School is seeking a reliable, practical and proactive Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities to join our support team.

This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining safe, attractive and well-presented school grounds and facilities that support the daily operations of the school and enhance the learning environment for students, staff and the wider community.

Your Opportunity

n

As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation and environment of the school by providing a high level of grounds and facilities to the Principal, Business Manager or nominated delegate.

n





You will perform a range of activities to ensure that the school is maintained to a high standard; follow set instructions; and have independence to perform a variety of day-to-day services that are routine in nature. However, the role receives regular supervision when undertaking duties that are non-routine in nature.

Responsibilities

- Manage general school duties, stores, mail, equipment and events.
n
- Maintain grounds, gardens, ovals and sporting facilities.
n
- Complete repairs, maintenance and minor works.
n
- Operate and maintain grounds and maintenance equipment.
n
- Support security, building access and banking duties.
n
- Liaise with staff, students, contractors and tradespeople.
n
- Identify safety hazards and coordinate repairs.
n
- Maintain records and ensure WHS and departmental compliance.
n
- Support grounds improvement, planning and budgeting.
