This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and reliable Part-Time Accounts Officer / Bookkeeper to join the Kidsafe Qld team at our head office in Stafford. Working closely with management, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial administration of the organisation and ensuring our accounts and financial records are maintained accurately and efficiently.
Key responsibilities
Recording and maintaining accurate financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable
Processing invoices, payments and receipts
Reconciling bank accounts on a regular basis
Processing payroll and superannuation contributions
Preparing financial reports and statements for management and board review and compliance purposes
Managing accounting records and ensuring all documentation is organised and accessible
Performing monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accuracy
Preparing and lodging all BAS and ATO obligations on behalf of the business
Maintaining confidentiality
Assisting with general administrative tasks as required to support business operations
About you
A minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience
Proficiency with Xero essential
Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles, including double-entry accounting and financial reconciliation
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
Ability to work independently
Strong organisational and time-management skills, particularly important for part-time arrangements
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
Ability and willingness to learn and adapt to recent software and systems
Knowledge of Australian tax and superannuation compliance requirements
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with team members
