The Team & Role

n

Position Summary:

n

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Registered Nurse to complete the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery at Leongatha Hospital. As a Student Midwife you will be supported to participate in providing antenatal care & assessment, labour, post-natal and domiciliary care in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team.

n

Part-time 0.6 EFT (48 hours per fortnight) across a rotating roster

n





May be required to work across any Regional Care Group sites

n

2-year fixed term contract

n

Paid, supernumerary model

n

Enrolment in Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, part time over 2 years commencing 2026

n

Opportunity on completion of contract to apply for available positions within Bayside Health.

n

Mandatory

n

Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

n

Provide all aspects of Antenatal, Intrapartum, Postnatal and Domiciliary Care.

n

Demonstrated practice within ANCI competencies and Code of Ethics/Professional Conduct.

n

Annual completion of the Foetal Surveillance Education Program (FSEP)

n

Current Neonatal resuscitation and Basic Life Support competency.

n

Ability to work independently with first midwife on call.

n

Prepare to undertake occasional on call shifts above contracted EFT.

n

Attend to neonatal and adult resuscitation as BLS responder.

n

Provide 24/7 Phone triage for maternity patients.

n

Ability to fulfil rotating roster requirements. Working across all shifts Monday to Sunday, including weekends and public holidays

n

Flexibility with roster to accommodate University requirements

n

Valid Police Check

n

Valid Working with Children check

n
