About the Role

Australian Industry Group Apprentice and Trainee Centre is partnering with a leading trailer manufacturer to recruit a Heavy Vehicle Body Builder Apprentice based in Brooklyn, VIC. If you're interested in fabrication, welding and manufacturing, this is an opportunity to learn a specialised trade while earning a nationally recognised qualification. You'll work alongside experienced tradespeople, learning how truck and trailer bodies are built, assembled, modified and repaired within a busy manufacturing environment. Gain a Certificate III in Automotive Manufacturing Technical Operations (Bus, Truck & Trailer), with all TAFE fees covered, PPE supplied, and ongoing support from your Australian Industry Group Employment & Training Consultant throughout your apprenticeship. Please note: This apprenticeship focuses on the manufacture and fabrication of truck and trailer bodies. It is not a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic apprenticeship and does not involve engine servicing, diagnostics or mechanical repairs.

Duties May Include

- Manufacturing and assembling truck and trailer bodies
- Assisting with fabrication, welding and metalwork tasks
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans
- Fitting and assembling trailer components
- Modifying and repairing trailer body structures
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas
- Following workplace safety and quality procedures
- Working as part of a skilled manufacturing team

Location: Brooklyn, VIC Hours:



Monday to Friday |6:00am to 2:06pm |38 hours per week

About You

- Has a genuine interest in fabrication, welding, manufacturing or building things
- Enjoys hands-on, practical work
- Is reliable, motivated and eager to learn
- Has a solid work ethic and positive attitude
- Works well in a team environment
- Demonstrates a commitment to workplace safety
- Has completed Year 10 or equivalent
- Holds a current driver's licence (desirable but not essential)
