Role Description

n

The Team Leader / Senior Occupational Therapist is a full-time role based in our clinic in Deer Park, VIC.

n

The role combines clinical practice and management of a small team. It involves providing clinical OT services to NDIS participants, including assessment, intervention planning, and delivery of evidence-informed therapies that support functional, social, and sensory needs. Must have experience w assistive technology, home & living, functional capacity assessments.

The Team Leader / Senior OT will also oversee and mentor a small multidisciplinary team, provide clinical supervision, and support team development and best-practice service delivery. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with participants, families, and support networks, developing and reviewing NDIS goals, writing clear reports and documentation, and coordinating with external providers and stakeholders. The role also involves contributing to service improvement, upholding person-centered and strengths-based approaches, and ensuring compliance with NDIS and relevant skilled standards.

Qualifications

- Registration (or eligibility for registration)



as an Occupational Therapist with relevant professional bodies and the ability to meet NDIS practice requirements.
n
- Demonstrated clinical experience working with autistic children, young people, and/or adults, including assessment, intervention, and functional capacity building.
n
- Skills in person-centered practice, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based approaches to support participants' choice, control, and autonomy.
n
- Experience in team leadership or senior clinical roles, including mentoring, supervision, and supporting professional development of colleagues.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing for NDIS plans, goals, and funding reviews.
n
- Ability to build respectful relationships with participants, families, and support networks, and to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external providers.
n
- Knowledge of the NDIS framework, policies, and processes, with the ability to navigate plans, funding, and service coordination for participants with autism.
n
- Organizational and time-management skills to manage caseloads, documentation, and competing priorities in a hybrid work environment.
n
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning in autism, neurodiversity, sensory processing, and evidence-informed OT interventions.
