Job Description

Toongabbie Childcare is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Trainee to join our team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning their career in early childhood education and care to gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive and nurturing setting. Based in Toongabbie, NSW, this role will see you working directly with children and families whilst developing the foundational skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career in childcare. You will be supported by experienced educators who are committed to your professional development and growth within the sector.

Key responsibilities

n

Supporting qualified educators in providing high-quality care, supervision and educational activities for children of various age groups

n

Assisting with the planning, preparation and implementation of age-appropriate learning activities and play-based experiences

n

Supporting children with daily routines including meal times, rest times and personal hygiene practices

n

Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for children and families

n

Observing and documenting children's development and learning in accordance with centre policies

n

Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers about children's experiences and wellbeing

n

Supporting the implementation of the centre's duty of care, health, safety and wellbeing policies

n

Contributing positively to the childcare team and supporting the centre's culture and values

n

What we're looking for

n

Genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their safety, wellbeing and development

n

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a childcare, early childhood education or related qualification (Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care,



or equivalent, preferred)

n

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with children, families and colleagues

n

A collaborative and supportive approach to working within a team environment

n

Physical fitness and ability to engage in active play with children

n

A willingness to learn and develop professional skills with guidance from experienced educators

n

Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one) is essential

n

Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude towards work

n
