Job Description

Vineyard Medical Centre is a purpose built clinic which opened in Sunbury in September 2016.

We are currently seeking an experienced part-time Medical Receptionist to assist with the following duties 5 days/35 hours per week:

n

- Open and close clinic as per set procedure;
n
- To greet patients and other callers at the practice in a courteous and efficient manner;
n
- To answer the telephone promptly and courteously;
n
- To make appointments for patients following set procedures;
n
- To issue patients invoices/receipts and bulk bill as required;
n
- Have a explicit understanding of the MBS Schedule, to be able to maintain correct billing procedures;
n
- Maintain patient information, updating current information, linking family members and unlinking independent children, archiving, etc. on records system;
n
- To deal with referring doctors, hospital staff, pharmacists and other professionals, courteously and helpfully;
n
- To exercise confidentiality in regard to patient care and all aspects of the practice;
n
- Maintain reception, waiting areas and consulting rooms in a tidy and welcoming manner,



including cleaning up spills as they occur;

- And other duties as requested by theGeneral Manager
n

Hours may vary between Monday to Friday 6.30am-7.00pm, Saturday 8.00am-1.30pm and the successful candidate must be available for leave coverand Saturdays.

n

Maternity leave position initially until 24/07/2027 but may extend

n

The successful candidate may be offered the opportunity to continue in a permanent role, following the maternity cover period, working one Wednesday shift per week, subject to successful completion of their probationary period.

Position commences in October 2026

Key selection criteria

n

n
- Minimum two years' experience in administration and customer service, preferably medical;
n
- Being flexible to cover leave is a mandatory requirement
n
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
n
- Knowledge and/or ability to communicate in a busy business setting;
n
- Ability to prioritise, organise and perform numerous tasks
