Take ownership of planning approvals across a National development portfolio

We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our Construction & Development team.

n

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded planning professional who wants to play a key role in progressing projects from initial site assessment and feasibility through to planning approval and development delivery.

n

You will provide specialist planning advice across current developments, refurbishments, expansions and associated retail and commercial projects.

n

Working closely with our Development, Construction, Property, Legal and Project Management teams, you will identify planning opportunities and risks, develop practical approval strategies and manage applications through to successful outcomes.

n

You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse national development pipeline, engaging directly with councils, planning authorities, consultants and internal decision-makers.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Providing strategic and statutory planning advice for new developments, redevelopments and existing sites.
n
- Undertaking planning due diligence, zoning reviews, site constraint assessments and feasibility analysis for potential development opportunities.
n
- Preparing, lodging and managing planning permit and development applications, use approvals, signage applications and subdivision/consolidation applications Nationally.
n
- Managing the planning approval process from pre-application through to determination, including responding to requests for further information and negotiating conditions.
n
- Engaging and negotiating with councils,



planning authorities, government agencies, referral authorities and other regulatory bodies.
n
- Reviewing architectural drawings, development plans and consultant reports to ensure planning requirements are addressed.
n
- Supporting Construction and Project Management teams with permit interpretation amendments and planning matters arising during project delivery.

About You

n

You will be a confident and solutions-focused Town Planner who understands how to balance planning requirements with commercial development objectives.

n

You will ideally bring:

n

n
- A tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Urban Development or a related discipline.
n
- Demonstrated experience in statutory and/or development planning.
n
- Proven experience preparing, lodging and managing planning applications through to approval.
n
- Strong knowledge of planning legislation, planning schemes, zoning, overlays and development approval processes.
n
- The ability to interpret planning requirements and translate them into practical development solutions.
n
- Strong written communication, report writing and stakeholder management skills.
n
- Confidence dealing directly with councils, authorities, consultants and internal stakeholders.
n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
n
