The Medical Receptionist is responsible for providing professional, friendly and efficient front-of-house and administrative support to patients, doctors, nurses and the wider clinical team. The role requires a high level of confidentiality, organisation and attention to detail within a busy medical practice.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Greet patients and provide professional and welcoming customer service.
n
- Answer and manage incoming telephone calls and enquiries.
n
- Schedule, reschedule and manage patient appointments accurately.
n
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes.
n
- Process payments, Medicare claims and other billing requirements.
n
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information.
n
- Process referrals, correspondence, forms and medical documentation.
n
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including electronic communications.
n
- Liaise professionally with doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and external providers.
n
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with privacy requirements.
n
- Assist with scanning,
filing and uploading medical documentation.
n
- Monitor and maintain reception and waiting areas to ensure they are clean and presentable.
n
- Assist with general administrative duties and clinic operations as required.
n
- Follow clinic policies, procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
n
- Provide support to the Practice Manager and clinical team as required.
n

- Previous medical reception or healthcare administration experience preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong computer and administrative skills.
