Toongabbie Childcare is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Trainee to join our team on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning their career in early childhood education and care to gain valuable hands-on experience in a supportive and nurturing environment. Based in Toongabbie, NSW, this role will see you working directly with children and families whilst developing the foundational skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career in childcare. You will be supported by experienced educators who are committed to your professional development and growth within the sector.

Key responsibilities

Supporting qualified educators in providing high-quality care, supervision and educational activities for children of various age groups

Assisting with the planning, preparation and implementation of age-appropriate learning activities and play-based experiences

Supporting children with daily routines including meal times, rest times and personal hygiene practices

Maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment for children and families

Observing and documenting children's development and learning in accordance with centre policies

Communicating effectively with parents and caregivers about children's experiences and wellbeing

Supporting the implementation of the centre's duty of care, health, safety and wellbeing policies

Contributing positively to the childcare team and supporting the centre's culture and values

What we're looking for

Genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their safety, wellbeing and development

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a childcare, early childhood education or related qualification (Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or equivalent,



preferred)

Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with children, families and colleagues

A collaborative and supportive approach to working within a team environment

Physical fitness and ability to engage in active play with children

A willingness to learn and develop qualified skills with guidance from experienced educators

Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain one) is essential

Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude towards work
