Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced CIAM Tech Lead for an 18-month contract with a Federal Government organisation.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role suited to a strong software engineer who has extensive experience delivering Consumer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions. You'll be responsible for leading technical implementation, solving complex engineering problems, maintaining high-quality code and providing technical guidance to other engineers.

As the CIAM Tech Lead, you will:

- Lead the implementation and delivery of complex CIAM solutions
n
- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable and maintainable code
n
- Solve complex technical and implementation challenges
n
- Design solutions for advanced CIAM requirements
n
- Conduct code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices
n
- Contribute to estimation, technical refinement and delivery planning
n
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers
n




- Work with technical stakeholders and other teams to integrate CIAM solutions with existing systems
n
- Explore emerging technologies and AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality
n

Essential experience includes:

n

n
- Advanced unit and integration testing experience, including frameworks such as Jest
n
- Extensive experience implementing complex CIAM solutions
n
- Solid knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect (OIDC)
n
- Experience customising and integrating CIAM platforms such as Auth0, Okta, ForgeRock, Ping or similar
n
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor or similar
n
- Proven experience mentoring engineers and contributing to a collaborative engineering environment
n
- Experience configuring and customising SaaS‐based CIAM services
n
- Experience building and integrating microservices in cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure or GCP
