Aspley Hornets is seeking an experienced and passionate Football Manager to lead our football department across senior men's, women's, junior, youth and masters programs.

n

Reporting to the Board of Directors, this leadership role is responsible for driving football strategy, strengthening player pathways, managing football operations, supporting coaches and staff, and fostering a strong, accountable club culture.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and implement the club's football strategy and philosophy.
n
- Oversee football operations across all programs.
n
- Manage and support coaches, football staff and volunteers.
n
- Drive player recruitment, retention and pathway development.
n
- Ensure AFL Queensland compliance, reporting and football administration requirements are met.
n
- Build a positive, inclusive and high-performance football culture.
n
- Manage football budgets, resources and planning.
n
- Develop strong relationships with AFL Queensland, schools, community clubs, sponsors and stakeholders.

About You

You will have:

- Senior leadership experience in football, community sport or a comparable workplace.
n
- Strong strategic, operational and people management skills.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
n
- Experience in budgeting, planning and resource management.
n
- Sound understanding of football operations, player development and pathways.
n
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to lead through influence and collaboration.
n
- QAFL, QAFLW or AFL Queensland experience.
n
- Coaching accreditation or coaching leadership experience.
n
- Sports administration, management or education qualifications.
n
- Experience supporting women's and girls' football programs.
n
