Our client is a leading global pharmaceutical organisation with a strong presence in the Australian market and an expanding portfolio of generic medicines.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven National Sales Manager to lead the Pharmacy retail generics sales function across Australia. This is a senior leadership prospect for an accomplished pharmaceutical sales professional who can develop strategy, build strong customer relationships and lead a high-performing national team.
n
You will play a key role in driving revenue growth, market share, profitability and customer engagement across the Australian retail pharmacy channel.
n
About the Role
n
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing the national sales strategy for the organisation's retail generics portfolio.
n
You will lead a national sales team while managing strategic relationships across wholesalers, buying groups, pharmacy networks and other key stakeholders
n
Key responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Develop and execute the national sales strategy to achieve revenue, profitability and market share objectives.
n
- Identify and capitalise on market growth opportunities through market analysis, customer insights and competitive intelligence.
n
- Develop and manage key account and buying group strategies to strengthen market presence and customer penetration.
n
- Drive sales forecasting, budgeting, performance management and commercial investment decisions.
n
- Monitor sales performance, market trends, inventory and commercial outcomes to maximise business performance.
n
- Lead sales force effectiveness initiatives,
including territory design, customer targeting, coverage and sales KPIs.
n
- Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers, buying groups, pharmacy groups and other key customers and stakeholders.
n
- Identify opportunities for distribution expansion, product ranging and customer growth.
n
- Analyse market share, IQVIA data, customer trends and sales performance to identify opportunities and risks.
n
- Lead commercial planning and execution for new product launches.
n
- Work collaboratively with Supply Chain, Finance, Regulatory, Marketing and Portfolio teams to ensure successful product launches and market execution.
n
- Develop business cases and assess commercial opportunities to support future portfolio growth.
n
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing national sales team.
n

About You
n
We are looking for an accomplished pharmaceutical sales leader who combines strong commercial capability with a genuine ability to lead and develop people.
n
You will ideally have:
n
n
- A Bachelor's degree in any discipline; postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
n
- Significant experience within the Pharmacy Retail industry, with pharmacy selling experience essential.
n
- A minimum of 5 years' people management experience within sales.
n
- Strong experience managing pharmaceutical sales teams, ideally within the generic retail pharmacy market.
n
- Experience in generic prescription medicine sales will be highly regarded.
n
- Demonstrated success in consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets.
n
- Strong understanding of the Australian generic pharmaceutical market and key industry trends.
n
- Established relationships with wholesalers, buying groups, pharmacy groups and other relevant stakeholders.
n
- Strong commercial, analytical and business planning capability.
n
- Experience using market data, including IQVIA, to inform sales strategy and decision‐making.
n
- Strong key account management and customer engagement skills.
n
- Proven ability to coach, motivate and develop high-performing sales teams.
n
- Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
n
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively across a diverse, cross‐cultural organisation.
