Vanguard Mining is seeking a Sales Manager to grow our business through end-to-end ownership of the sales, proposal and tender lifecycle. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role identifies opportunities, leads the development of technically and commercially sound proposals for our crushing, screening, conveying and mineral processing equipment, negotiates and closes contracts, and hands awarded work over to our Projects team with scope, pricing, assumptions and risks clearly defined. The role also manages our key accounts and the relationship with our principal manufacturing partner, sets the sales strategy, targets and pipeline discipline, and leads a small sales team. This is a hands‑on commercial role suited to someone with an engineering background who can understand a flowsheet, engage confidently with owners' teams and EPCMs, and put together professional tenders with clear scope definition. Working closely with Design, Projects and Operations, the role makes sure every opportunity is scoped against our delivery capability before it is won. The General Manager works closely with this position and there is real scope to develop in the role. Success is measured by revenue against target, win rate, forecast accuracy, key account retention and the quality of handover into delivery.

Key responsibilities

- Develop and execute the company sales strategy, targets, KPIs and forecasts in line with business objectives.
- Lead the end-to-end development of proposals and tenders, from chance identification through to submission and award.
- Translate client requirements into clear, structured and competitive proposals covering scope, pricing, timelines and risk.
- Lead contract negotiations with customers, securing profitable terms while maintaining long‑term relationships.
- Ensure all proposals and contracts are commercially sound, with clear scope definition, pricing, assumptions and risk allocation.




- Deliver a structured handover of all awarded work to the Projects team and support them on post‑award commercial or scope issues.
- Manage key accounts as primary point of contact.
- Build and maintain the relationship with our principal manufacturing partner to ensure continuity of supply and service.
- Identify and pursue new customers, markets and partnerships across mining and mineral processing.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, opportunity tracking and sales reporting, and report to the General Manager on performance, forecasts and market activity.

About you

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, process, metallurgical or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years in sales, business development or proposals within mining, mineral processing or heavy industry.
- Experience preparing professional proposals and tenders with clear scope definition, and closing equipment or project sales.
- Sound technical understanding of mineral processing and bulk materials handling equipment and how it relates to customer needs.
- Comfortable engaging with owners' teams, EPCMs and contractors across WA mining.
- Commercial acumen across pricing, budgets and forecasting.
- Disciplined with CRM, pipeline and reporting.
- A clear, direct communicator who follows through and is open to coaching and feedback.
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally to visit customers, sites, manufacturers and suppliers, with some work outside standard hours to meet deadlines.
