We are partnering with a highly regarded Melbourne law firm seeking a proactive and capable Property Legal Assistant to join its busy and collaborative Property team.
n
The Opportunity
n
This isn't a role where you'll simply sit behind the scenes doing the same thing every day.
n
You'll work closely with two Law Clerks and the broader Property team, becoming an important part of the day-to-day progression of matters.
n
The team works across a diverse range of property transactions, acquisitions and developments, and you'll have the opportunity to support quality work in a professional, rapid-paced environment.
n

What You'll Be Doing
n
Your role will be varied and hands-on, with responsibilities including:
n
n
- Supporting two Law Clerks and the wider Property team
n
- Preparing, formatting and amending legal documents and correspondence
n
- Opening, maintaining and closing files
n
- Managing diaries, appointments and key deadlines
n
- Assisting with client enquiries and incoming calls
n
- Liaising with clients and other internal and external stakeholders
n
- Supporting the smooth progression and administration of property matters
n
- Managing billing, timesheets and general practice administration
n
- Providing proactive support wherever it's needed in a busy team environment
n
n
About You
n
We're looking for someone who is organised, switched on and one step ahead.
n
Ideally, you will bring:
n
n
- Previous experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably within Property or Conveyancing
n
- A sound understanding of the conveyancing process and property transactions
n
- Excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a busy environment
n
- A proactive approach and the confidence to anticipate the needs of your team
n
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach to client service
n
- The ability to work independently while enjoying being part of a collaborative team
n
n
Experience with Microsoft Office is essential.
n
Experience using iManage, Affinity, PEXA, DocuSign and/or SRO Duties Online will be highly regarded.
n
