- Lead and oversee daily payroll operations to ensure accuracy, timeliness and quality standards
- Motivate and guide the payroll team to deliver accurate, timely and customer-focused payroll services
- Drive adoption of updated workflows and technologies and ensure team proficiency
- Analyse and validate payroll data
- Produce detailed reports for management, customers and regulatory bodies
- Collaborate on improving payroll policies and compliance
- Mentor team members and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
- Support business reforms and service delivery
- Implement the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and uphold its Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG
Requirements
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a relevant discipline, or demonstrated successful experience in stakeholder/customer engagement in a Shared Services/Payroll environment
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting and guiding payroll teams
- Knowledge of payroll operations, data analysis and validation, reporting, workflows, technologies, policies and compliance
- Commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG
- Australian work rights: Australian citizenship, permanent residency, New Zealand citizenship, or a valid work visa
- Successful candidates must undertake pre-employment screening, including a National Criminal History Check
- Successful candidates not currently employed by the Department must provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number
