Gorilla Jobs is seeking Locum Emergency Medicine Doctors across NSW, with opportunities available from RMO through to Consultant level.
Roles are available for:
- RMO / SRMO
- Registrar / Senior Registrar
- FACEM / Emergency Consultant
- GP VMO with ED skills
You will have access to a broad mix of Emergency Department settings, from major referral centres through to smaller regional and rural hospitals.
This allows you to tailor your locum work around your skill set, preferred case mix, availability and lifestyle.
Clinical Environment
You will have access to a wide range of Emergency Medicine locum opportunities across NSW.
- Broad ED exposure – work across busy Emergency Departments with varied presentations
- Mixed case load – gain experience across trauma, acute medicine, paediatrics, mental health and procedural work
- Different hospital settings – choose from larger referral centres, regional hospitals and rural EDs

- Supervision opportunities – Registrars and Consultants may support junior doctors during rostered shifts

Patient Demographic
Depending on the site and role, you may support a broad Emergency Department patient mix, including adults, older patients, paediatric patients, trauma presentations, acute medical cases, mental health presentations, minor injuries, procedural presentations and patients requiring assessment, stabilisation, escalation or transfer.
Key Duties
Duties will vary depending on your level, site and roster, but may include:
- Assess and manage Emergency Department presentations
- Provide clinical care within your scope and level of experience
- Support patient flow, clinical documentation and handover
- Assist with acute presentations, procedures or ward escalation as required
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health and hospital teams
- Provide supervision or senior decision-making support where appropriate
Requirements
- Current AHPRA General or Specialist Registration
- Recent Emergency Medicine or relevant acute care experience
- ALS preferred, along with other relevant life support courses
- NSW Working with Children Check and National Police Check, or willingness to obtain
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete hospital credentialing and onboarding
- Current CV, references and compliance documents as required

Location
Emergency Medicine locum opportunities are available across NSW,
including larger centres with full hospital services as well as smaller regional and rural communities.
Locations may include Hunter New England, Northern NSW, Central Coast, Western Sydney, Murrumbidgee, Western NSW, Southern NSW, Far West and Nepean Blue Mountains.
These regions offer varied ED exposure, short commutes in many regional locations, relaxed lifestyles and the flexibility to combine locum work with travel, family time or time off between blocks.
