Hunter Recent England Local Health District is seeking Locum Doctors from RMO through to Consultant level to provide cover across multiple regional and rural hospital settings.

Whether you are looking for short-term blocks, ad-hoc shifts or longer-term FIFO rotations, this is a strong opportunity to broaden your clinical exposure while maintaining flexibility around your schedule.

Roles may be available across Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Anaesthetics, ICU and more, depending on your level, experience and availability.

Clinical Environment

You will have access to a wide range of locum opportunities across Hunter New England LHD.

- Variety of specialties – work across Medicine, ED, Surgery, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Anaesthetics, ICU and more
- Multiple levels considered – suitable for RMO, SRMO, Registrar, CMO and Consultant-level doctors

Patient Demographic

Depending on the role and specialty, you may support a broad regional patient mix, including adults, older patients, paediatric patients, emergency presentations, acute admissions, ward patients, surgical patients, maternity presentations, mental health presentations and patients requiring assessment, management planning, escalation or ongoing care.

Key Duties

Duties will vary depending on your level, specialty and roster, but may include:

- Provide clinical cover across your allocated department or specialty
- Assess, review and manage patients within scope
- Support ward care, ED presentations, theatre lists, clinics or on-call requirements as required




- Complete clinical documentation, handover and management plans
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Work collaboratively with medical, nursing, allied health and hospital teams

Requirements

- Current AHPRA General or Specialist Registration
- PGY3+ with relevant clinical experience
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete local credentialing and onboarding
- Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
