nAbout the Rolen
nThe Motel Manager will organise and control the day-to-day accommodation and property operations at Quality Inn O'Connell. The role will focus on maintaining safe, clean and reliable accommodation, supervising onsite services and staff, and working closely with contracted client personnel to coordinate operational requirements and resolve service issues.n
nThis is a hands-on management position requiring sound judgement, strong stakeholder communication and the ability to maintain consistent accommodation, safety and property standards.n
nKey Responsibilitiesn
n•Direct and oversee daily accommodation operations, including room allocation coordination, reception and administrative processes, housekeeping schedules, room readiness and common-area standards.n
n•Act as the primary operational liaison with contracted client employees onsite, coordinating access, accommodation requirements, service schedules, operational requests and the timely resolution of issues.n
n•Supervise housekeeping, cleaning, linen and amenity services, and conduct routine inspections to ensure rooms and shared areas meet required presentation, hygiene and service standards.n
n•Supervise property maintenance, groundskeeping and contractor activities, including planned maintenance, urgent repairs, work orders and follow-up of outstanding defects.n
n•Coordinate site security arrangements with contracted client personnel,



including access control, key management, contractor access, incident reporting and emergency procedures.n
n•Monitor service quality and stakeholder feedback, investigate concerns and implement practical improvements to accommodation and property operations.n
n•Select, roster, train, supervise and support accommodation staff and contractors, set performance expectations and ensure adequate staffing for operational needs.n
n•Manage purchasing, supplier relationships, accommodation supplies, stock control, invoices, operating expenses and basic accounting records within approved budgets.n
n•Maintain accurate occupancy, room status, maintenance, contractor, incident, safety and service records, and prepare operational reports for management.n
nKey Responsibilities Continuedn
n•Ensure compliance with work health and safety, fire and emergency requirements, hygiene standards, privacy obligations, applicable accommodation requirements and company policies.n
n•Respond to operational incidents and after-hours matters when required, escalating significant risks and coordinating appropriate corrective action.n
n•Review work practices, costs and service outcomes to improve efficiency while maintaining secure and dependable accommodation services.n
nQualifications and Experiencen




n•A relevant AQF Diploma or higher qualification in hospitality, accommodation management, business or a related field. At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification.n
n•Demonstrated experience managing hotel, motel, workforce accommodation or a comparable accommodation operation.n
n•Experience supervising housekeeping, property maintenance, contractors, staff rosters and operational service standards.n
n•Strong stakeholder management, leadership, communication, record-keeping and problem-solving skills.n
n•Sound understanding of work health and safety, emergency procedures, privacy, security coordination and compliance obligations within an accommodation environment.n
n•Ability to manage competing priorities, respond calmly to operational issues and work effectively with onsite partner personnel.n
