Full-time Management Accountant position available at Smithfield, NSW 2164

Position Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Assist management in developing and reviewing organisational budgets, financial procedures, accounting practices, and related financial policies.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and financial information for consideration by directors, management, shareholders, and relevant regulatory or statutory authorities.
- Analyse financial matters and undertake investigations, reviews, and audit-related activities, providing reports and recommendations concerning business transactions, financing arrangements, taxation matters, potential fraud, insolvency, and other financial issues.
- Review and analyse operating costs, revenue, expenditure, and financial performance to identify significant variances, trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improved financial management.
- Review financial records and reporting processes to support the accuracy, reliability,



and regulatory compliance of financial information provided to management and other relevant stakeholders.
- Provide financial and taxation guidance in relation to business structures, proposed business activities, operational plans, financial arrangements, and other matters affecting the organisation.
- Prepare, review, and coordinate taxation documentation and returns for the organisation, ensuring relevant financial information is accurately compiled and lodged in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Liaise with banks, financial institutions, brokers, and other relevant parties to assist with the establishment and administration of appropriate funds management and financial arrangements.
- Implement, maintain, and review accounting systems and processes, including providing input into the selection, configuration, and effective use of computerised accounting software and financial management systems.
- Establish and monitor internal financial controls and procedures and assess cash flow requirements and financial risks associated with capital expenditure and investment projects where required.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of two years' experience working in a similar accounting or management accounting role.
- Robust knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, management accounting, taxation, financial analysis, and accounting systems.
- Competent in using accounting software, computerised financial systems, spreadsheets, and other standard office applications.
- Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, taxation requirements, and relevant statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a professional team.

Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $80,000 - $90,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
