Student Service Officer

About the Role
As a Student Service Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting student success by delivering high-quality, student-centred services across a range of channels including face-to-face, phone and email. This part-time opportunity offers consistent weekday hours, making it ideal for candidates seeking meaningful work that supports work-life balance. Working within the AskUOW team, you will provide accurate information, resolve enquiries, and connect students with specialist support when needed, helping to create a positive and seamless experience throughout their university journey.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service and support across multiple service channels.
- Resolve and triage student enquiries to ensure timely and accurate outcomes.
- Support key student lifecycle processes including enrolment, examinations, academic administration and graduation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge resources that enhance the student experience.
About the Team
AskUOW is the University's central student service hub, providing personalised administrative and information support to students across metropolitan and regional campuses. We work collaboratively with faculties, professional services teams and specialist support areas to help students navigate university processes and achieve their academic goals. Our team is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive and service-focused environment where every student feels supported.
What You'll Bring
- Relevant experience and/or qualifications in administration, customer service or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience delivering high-quality customer service in a rapid-paced, high-volume environment, ideally within a contact centre or student services setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to engage effectively with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Ability to learn and apply complex information and quickly develop proficiency in new systems and technologies.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet deadlines.

Role Details
- Permanent/Continuing, Part-time appointment (0.7 FTE)
- Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 1:30pm (negotiable start and finish times)
- Level 3/4: $67,214 - $85,682 (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation
- Location: Wollongong Campus
- This position is campus-based and is not suitable for remote working arrangements.
- Valid Australian work rights required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
