An excellent opportunity is available for PGY3+ doctors to consolidate their clinical experience through a varied General Stream programme with a major regional health service in Victoria.

This 12-month appointment offers broad clinical exposure, strong supervision and access to structured teaching and professional development. Doctors will normally complete four 13-week rotations across different specialties and regional clinical settings.

Clinical Rotations

Depending on service requirements and availability, rotations may include:

- Emergency Medicine
- General Medicine
- General Surgery
- Mental Health and Psychiatry
- Rehabilitation Medicine
- Geriatric Medicine
- Intensive Care Medicine—available as a part-time rotation only
- Leave Relief

Some rotations may be undertaken at affiliated regional hospitals. This provides doctors with experience across a variety of clinical environments, healthcare settings and patient populations.

Every effort will be made to provide a diverse and rewarding programme; however, individual rotations cannot be guaranteed and will be allocated according to operational requirements and availability.

The Programme

The PGY3+ General Stream programme provides a supportive environment in which doctors can:

- Consolidate their clinical assessment and management skills
- Gain experience across several medical and surgical specialties
- Manage patients with a broad range of acute and chronic conditions
- Develop greater confidence and professional independence
- Work within multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Participate in structured teaching and educational activities
- Prepare for future vocational training pathways
- Gain experience within both major regional and smaller community healthcare settings

Essential Requirements Applicants must:

- Hold an MBBS or equivalent recognised medical qualification




- Hold appropriate medical registration in Australia
- Meet the requirements for appointment at PGY3 level or above
- Possess full and unrestricted Australian working rights
- Demonstrate effective clinical, communication and teamwork skills
- Be willing to undertake rotations across participating regional health services
- Meet all occupational health and immunisation requirements before commencing employment

Applicants who require employer-sponsored working rights are not eligible for this position.
