Where you'll be working
Based at Westmead Hospital, Sydney Cell and Gene Therapy (SCGT) is at the forefront of advanced cellular therapies, supporting the translation of innovative treatments from research and development into clinical care. You'll join a specialised multidisciplinary setting where quality, collaboration and patient outcomes are at the centre of the work.

- Work within a highly controlled cGMP cleanroom and advanced therapies facility
- Support a specialised program delivering cell and gene therapy products for patients
- Collaborate with clinical, manufacturing, research, quality, engineering and hospital teams
- Work in an evolving environment where new technologies, procedures and therapeutic applications are introduced
- Contribute to a culture focused on quality, safety, continuous improvement and patient care

What you'll be doing
As a Technical Officer, you'll help keep the advanced therapies facility safe, compliant and manufacturing-ready. You'll combine practical facility operations with quality-focused technical work and support cell therapy manufacturing activities.

- Maintain cleanroom readiness through environmental monitoring, cleaning, equipment maintenance and calibration support




- Prepare production areas through line clearance, cleaning and manufacturing setup, ensuring GMP standards are maintained
- Support cell therapy operations, including packing and preparing therapeutic products for transport to clinical sites
- Coordinate procurement, materials management and facility requirements to keep manufacturing operations running smoothly
- Maintain accurate GMP documentation, support quality activities and respond to facility issues through a 24/7 on-call roster

Essential Criteria:

- Qualification: Certificate IV in Pathology or Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.

Selection Criteria:

1. Previous experience working in cleanrooms or other laboratory settings.
2. Experience working within a documented quality or safety system including maintaining accurate contemporaneous records.
3. Experience with ordering, receipting and management of stock levels.
4.



Demonstrated organisational skills, including managing concurrent tasks and adapting to changing priorities.
5. Evidence of having learned and applied new technical procedures or equipment in a laboratory setting.
6. Flexibility to work in an out-of-hours roster to attend to equipment and manufacturing demands as required.
