Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
- Perform routine servicing, inspections, and scheduled maintenance to manufacturer standards.
- Conduct thorough safety checks and report on vehicle condition.
- Dismantle and reassemble vehicle components as part of accident repairs.
- Repair and replace engines, transmissions, steering, braking, suspension, and other mechanical systems.
- Work closely with the panel and paint team to ensure seamless repair processes.
- Use diagnostic tools and workshop equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Test drive vehicles to confirm repairs and troubleshoot any ongoing issues.




- Communicate clearly with customers about required repairs, costs, and timelines when needed.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Keep the workshop clean, organised, and compliant with environmental standards.
- Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
- Mentor apprentices and support team members when required.
- Deliver high-quality workmanship that meets Premium Auto Body’s reputation for excellence.

Requirements

- Relevant trade qualification as a Motor Mechanic (Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year experience in vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance within a busy workshop setting.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical, brake, steering, and suspension systems.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and repair guidelines accurately.
- Commitment to high-quality workmanship and attention to detail for both mechanical and body repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, safety-first approach.
- Valid Australian driver’s licence (manual preferred).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
