Kattsafe is Australia's leading provider of height safety and access solutions. We design and manufacture innovative products that keep people safe when working at heights, and we're looking for a motivated Junior NPD Engineer to join our Product Development team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-carer engineer to gain hands-on experience across the full product development lifecycle while working with an experienced and supportive team.
About the Role
As a Junior NPD Engineer, you will support the development, introduction and continuous improvement of products across the Kattsafe portfolio. From concept and design through to testing, production release and ongoing product maintenance, you'll play an important role in bringing innovative products to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of recent products and product improvements.
- Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings and specifications using Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
- Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering records and product data within ERP and document control systems.
- Support prototype development, product testing and validation activities.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to support new product introductions and resolve production issues.
- Contribute to project planning, documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Procurement and Sales teams to achieve successful product outcomes.
About You
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD software is desirable.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, design-for-manufacture principles and engineering documentation is advantageous.
- Trade qualifications or hands‑on manufacturing experience will be highly regarded.
