Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 3 Physiotherapist to join the Community Therapy Service/ Advanced Practice team.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

The Senior Clinician has a key leadership role in the provision, organisation and development of musculoskeletal physiotherapy services in ambulatory programs at Broadmeadows Hospital and across Northern Health. The senior clinician will act as a clinical resource for junior staff and students. The position includes a clinical caseload in the area of general and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, as well as being involved in the Pain Clinic and Pain Service programs at Broadmeadows Hospital. The provision of physiotherapy services in the Community Therapy Service are a combination of centre based and home based therapy (as required).

The Senior Clinician will also work as part of the Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy team to assess patients in the Post Arthroplasty Review Service alongside our Orthopaedic Team at NHE. In this role,



the physiotherapist needs to be able to assess a high-volume of patients and communicate effectively with surgeons, nursing staff, and clerical team. Although traditionally conducted via face-to-face appointments, the physiotherapist should be familiar with telehealth models of care and open to collaborative service redesign if necessary. There is also potential for work across other AMP clinics, with the appropriate credentialing.

Through their clinical expertise they will have a leading role in ensuring excellence in client care, promotion of quality, education of staff and students and in team and program development. The Senior Clinician will work closely the Physiotherapy Clinical Leaders to monitor, evaluate and develop their service area.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A minimum of seven (7) years of clinical experience in the relevant area
- Significant experience and clinical expertise in musculoskeletal and/or sports physiotherapy
- An appreciation of physiotherapy services in an organisational context and as a senior staff member is able to take responsibility for leading and managing resources to meet the requirements of NH
- Ability to work occasional weekend shifts, or public holidays is essential to ensure consistent senior clinical support is available if required to support broader organisational demands
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills and initiative in developing and promoting clinical care
- Demonstrated sound clinical skills based on practice wisdom
- Demonstrated ability to lead and promote evidence based practice
- A robust willingness to be involved in research
- Possesses practical negotiation and conflict resolution skills
