Due to strong business growth, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Workshop Service Technician/Mechanic to join our high-performing team in Wetherill Park.

You'll be responsible for the commissioning, servicing, fault finding, maintenance, and repair of Normet underground mining equipment, helping deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality solutions to our customers.

Key responsibilities

Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, engine, drivetrain, and transmission systems.

Performing machine modifications, upgrades, and component installations.

Manufacturing, fitting, testing, and commissioning electrical and mechanical components.

Troubleshooting equipment issues and providing technical support and solutions.

Conducting inspections, adjustments, and performance testing to ensure equipment reliability and safety.

Undertaking fabrication tasks including cutting, grinding, drilling, welding, and fitting components to machinery.

This role offers a diverse mix of diagnostics, repair, fabrication, and commissioning work within a busy and well-equipped workshop environment.

What we offer

Competitive hourly rate of $60 - $63 per hour (flat rate) plus superannuation paid on all hours worked

Workshop based role - be home every night to enjoy time with family and friends, working between 38 - 55 hours per week, Monday to Friday with Saturday work on occasions

About you

Relevant Trade qualifications (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Certificate III in Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic) along with 2- 3 years of industry experience

Experience in modification and repairs of heavy mobile equipment is desirable along with strong mechanical knowledge and experience

Ability to read CAD engineer drawings, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics.

High level of problem solving and diagnostic skills.

Experience with can-bus systems is highly desirable.

Current forklift licence is desirable but not essential.

You will have full working rights in Australia, please note visa sponsorship is not on offer at this time.

You will have the ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical and obtain a National Police Clearance.
