This is much more than an advisory role. You'll have the opportunity to shape practice at a national level, developing resources and implementation supports, building workforce capability, contributing to training and leading projects that can make a real difference to young people, families and communities.

You'll work closely with clinicians, clinical leads, centre managers, internal teams, young people, families and external sector partners to translate contemporary evidence into practical approaches that work.

You'll also contribute your AOD expertise to broader Clinical Practice priorities, helping strengthen the delivery of Valuable Care and the headspace model and improve outcomes for young people across Australia.

what you'll do

In this role, you will:

- Provide specialist clinical advice, consultation and practice support to headspace National, Clinical Leads, Centre Managers and the broader headspace network in relation to alcohol and other drug practice, harm minimisation and integrated youth mental health care.
- Shape clinical practice - contributing specialist AOD expertise to initiatives that strengthen Good Care,



integrated youth mental health and harm minimisation across the headspace network.
- Turn evidence into action - developing practical resources, implementation supports and practice guidance that help services translate evidence into everyday care.
- Build workforce capability - contributing to training, curriculum, communities of practice and workforce development initiatives, including supporting the Early Career Program.
- Lead and contribute to projects - bringing your clinical expertise to practice improvement, implementation, quality assurance, service review and model fidelity initiatives.
- Influence better outcomes - helping strengthen multidisciplinary responses to AOD concerns, including for priority populations and young people experiencing greater barriers to accessing care.
- Stay ahead of emerging practice - bringing contemporary evidence, sector knowledge and emerging AOD issues into our clinical and strategic work.
- Champion culturally safe practice - supporting approaches that are inclusive, responsive and aligned with the headspace First Nations Principled Approach and our commitment to equity and access.
- Collaborate and influence - building strong relationships across headspace and the broader sector and communicating complex clinical information in clear, practical and engaging ways.

what you'll bring

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant allied health discipline.
- Significant clinical experience across mental health and alcohol and other drugs, including experience working with young people experiencing mental ill health, substance use concerns, co-occurring presentations and their families.
- Strong knowledge of evidence informed AOD practice, harm minimisation,



integrated care and early intervention in youth mental health.
- Experience translating evidence into practice through projects, resources, workforce capability initiatives, practice improvement or implementation activities.
- Experience developing practical resources, practice guidance, implementation supports, training materials or other workforce capability products.
- The ability to provide expert clinical consultation and advice to clinicians, service leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
- A strong understanding of culturally safe, inclusive and responsive practice, including a commitment to improving outcomes for First Nations young people and families and other priority populations.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex information clear, relevant and practical for different audiences.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
