The CIO Group provides a range of enabling services andoperations delivery to the department and to Australian businesses and are seeking experienced andmotivated Cloud Engineers and/or Architects with a minimum of 5 years' experience toassist with the delivery of various ICT Projects across the CIO Group.
Key duties and responsibilities
Cloud Engineers and/or Architects will be required to:
- Develop enterprise level cloud platform architectures for MSAzure and M365;
- Develop high level solution architectures for cloud-basedsystems;
- Develop detailed architecture guidance for cloud engineers;
- Provide impact analysis of user/stakeholder requirements;
- Ensure that the enterprise and system solutions maintainadherence to whole-of-government standards;
- Provide technical guidance and input into the design andbuild of cloud-based systems;
- Liaise with a cross-functional teams including businessowners, scrum masters, business analysts, developers,
enterprise architects& testers to produce solutions in accordance with stakeholder requirementsand project objectives;
- Liaise with the department’s Service Experience team toensure architectural decisions incorporate user experience considerations.
- Liaise with ICT Engagement and Enterprise Architecture toensure alignment to target architectures and technology;
- Provide expertise and assistance in platform automation –testing, continuous integration and deployment.
- Promote key enterprise architecture principles as applicableto cloud platforms – re-use before buy/build, configure over customise, opendata/access over siloed functionality.
- Promote and provide assistance to ensure solutions alignwith the DTA’s Digital Service Standard.
- Be strategic, a leader and influencer.
- Undertake additional duties as required.
- Azure DevOps for code development, management, repositories,Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD deployments
- Integrating cloud-based systems with third-party systems,including Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM
- Azure networking,
security and identity managementcapabilities including Virtual Networks, Private Endpoints and Role BasedAccess Control
- Ability to work with geographically
dispersed teams
- Ability to work withtechnical and non-technical staff at all levels.

4. Technical Skills: Demonstrated experience 5yrs+ implementing and managing cloud systems and technologies. The Cloud Architect/Engineer will:
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to develop and manage enterprise and application-level
architectures for MS-Azure.
- Provide impact analysis and technical guidance in design and
development of project workaligned with WoG Standards
- Demonstrated trackrecord of technical leadership across project and operational tasks
- Demonstratedexperience and understanding of cloud-based technologies and
- Demonstrated experience in application and integration, orinfrastructure platform
- Minimum 3 years’experience designing and documenting architectures for large,
- Experience with AWS and/or GCP is desirable but notessential.
