Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council (OLALC) is seeking a passionate and experienced Domestic Violence Caseworker to join our dedicated Domestic Violence team.

Orange Local Aboriginal Land Council (OLALC) is seeking a passionate and experienced Domestic Violence Caseworker to join our dedicated Domestic Violence team.

This is an prospect to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and children experiencing or affected by domestic, family and sexual violence.

You will provide trauma-informed, culturally responsive and client-centred support, working alongside clients to increase safety, strengthen wellbeing, access support and build pathways towards longer-term stability and independence.

About the Role

As a Domestic Violence Caseworker, you will manage an allocated caseload and provide early intervention, crisis response, case management, advocacy, safety planning and practical support.

You will work closely with clients to understand their individual circumstances, identify their goals and support needs, develop safety and case plans, and connect them with appropriate services.

You will also work collaboratively with the DV Team Leader and DFV Program Manager, as well as Police, Housing, legal services, health services, child protection,



Aboriginal organisations and other community providers to ensure clients receive coordinated and culturally appropriate support.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage an allocated caseload of women and children experiencing or affected by domestic and family violence

- Conduct client intake, assessments, risk assessments and safety planning

- Develop, implement and regularly review individual case plans

- Provide trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive support

- Respond appropriately to crisis situations and changing client risks

- Advocate for client safety, rights, choice and access to services

- Support clients to access safe and sustainable housing

- Provide referrals, practical assistance and service coordination

- Support clients to navigate legal, court and justice processes where required

- Maintain accurate and timely case notes, assessments, safety plans and client records

- Participate in case conferences, supervision, team meetings and reflective practice

About You

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to supporting women and children to live safe and empowered lives.

You will have:

- A relevant qualification in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Domestic and Family Violence or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience

- Demonstrated experience working with women and children experiencing domestic and family violence, trauma or complex circumstances

- Experience in case management, risk assessment,



safety planning, advocacy and referrals

- A strong understanding of domestic and family violence and its impact on women and children

- Knowledge of trauma-informed, strengths-based and culturally responsive practice

- An understanding of child protection, mandatory reporting, privacy, confidentiality and information-sharing requirements

- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills

- Strong documentation, organisation and case management skills

- The ability to remain calm and work effectively in complex and high-risk situations

- A commitment to culturally safe, respectful and client-centred service delivery

- The ability to work collaboratively with clients, colleagues and external service providers
