We are a busy well-established tax practice located in Mackay, providing taxation services to individuals and small businesses. We are seeking a motivated Junior Tax Accountant to join our team. Some exposure to tax return preparation is preferred, however full training will be provided to the right person.

About the Role

n

This is an excellent prospect for a graduate or junior accountant looking to develop technical taxation skills under the guidance of a Registered Tax Agent.

n

As part of the Tax Preparation and Client Service team, you will:

n

n
- Interview clients and prepare individual income tax returns
n
- Prepare and maintain Rental property schedules
n
- Capital gains tax calculations
n
- BAS and IAS preparation
n
- Client correspondence and information gathering
n
- Tax office liaison and administration
n




- Business tax return preparation (with training)
n

About You

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- Accounting degree completed or currently studying
n
- Some exposure to Australian income tax returns
n
- Strong attention to detail
n
- Excellent communication skills
n
- A willingness to learn and develop professionally
n
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
n

n

Previous experience in public practice, H&R; Block, tax consulting or a similar environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
