n Embedded Expertise is partnering with a major mining organisation to recruit a Senior Control Systems Project Manager to lead the delivery of PLC and SCADA upgrade projects within a complex operational environment.
n This role requires a solid background in industrial automation and control systems, combined with proven project delivery experience. You will lead the delivery of PLC and SCADA end-of-life replacement projects and brownfield modifications, working closely with engineering, operations and maintenance stakeholders through design, implementation and commissioning phases.
n Projects are typically valued between $2M and $5M and involve multidisciplinary teams, contractors and technology vendors.

This role is well suited to a control systems or automation professional who has transitioned into project management and enjoys leading technically complex projects within live operational environments. A strong understanding of industrial control systems is important, as the role requires regular engagement with engineering teams, operations personnel and technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead the delivery of PLC and SCADA upgrade and replacement projects
n
- Manage project scope, cost, schedule, resources, risks and communications
n
- Coordinate engineering teams, contractors, vendors and site stakeholders
n




- Oversee project activities through design, implementation, testing, commissioning and handover
n
- Facilitate risk management activities and support project governance requirements
n
- Plan and coordinate work within shutdown and operational constraints
n
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and change management processes
n
- Maintain effective engagement with operational, technical and project stakeholders
n

About You

n

n
- 10+ years' experience working within industrial control systems environments
n
- 5+ years' experience in Project Management or project delivery roles
n
- Proven experience delivering projects valued between $2M and $5M
n
- Strong understanding of PLC, SCADA and Operational Technology environments
n
- Demonstrated capability across cost, schedule, scope, resource, communication and risk management
n
- Experience delivering projects within mining or heavy industrial environments
n
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
n
- Relevant engineering, automation or technical qualification (degree or diploma)
n
- Rockwell Automation PLC platforms
n
- PlantPAx
n
- Experience chairing risk assessment workshops
n
- Shutdown planning and execution experience
n
- Brownfield project delivery and commissioning experience
n
