About the Role

Wellington Shire Council is looking for an experienced andpassionate Communications and Engagement Advisor to join our Customer andCommunications team on a two-year fixed term contract.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead strategiccommunications and community engagement initiatives that help inform, connectand involve our communities in Council decisions, projects and priorities.

Reporting to the Manager Customer and Communications, youwill work closely with Councillors, staff, government agencies, stakeholdersand the community to deliver meaningful engagement outcomes and high-impactcommunications.

As Communications and Engagement Advisor, you will:

- Leadthe development and delivery of strategic communication and engagement plans.
- Provideexpert advice and leadership on community engagement across Council.
- Designand deliver communication campaigns for key projects and initiatives.
- Manageand support Council's engagement platforms and processes.
- Buildstrong relationships with media, community groups and stakeholders.
- Analyseengagement outcomes and use insights to improve future approaches.
- Supportemergency communications and media responses when required.
- Leada Communications and Engagement Officer and contribute to a collaborative,high-performing team.

About You

You will bring:

- Qualificationsin communications, community engagement, social science or a related field, orsignificant equivalent experience.
- Experiencedelivering strategic communication and stakeholder engagement programs.
- Strongwriting,



presentation and facilitation skills.
- Knowledgeof community engagement principles and frameworks, including IAP2, or awillingness to obtain.
- Theability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes across diversestakeholder groups.
- Experienceworking in a government or public sector environment will be highly regarded.
