The Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experiencedSpray Painter. This position will be responsible for a diverse range of duties including industrial spray painting and quality assurance.
Being involved in the process of making signs, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Mixing paint and other materials according to specification or formula
- Preparing parts and assemblies for painting
- Painting (and some assembly of) signs according to instruction set by the Production Management team and the job sheet
- Monitoring machine gauges and equipment operation to discover defects/deviations from standards and make necessary adjustments
- Identifying and separating non-conforming parts or materials and report them to Team Leader and Management
- Using a spray gun to apply paint in conformance to specifications
- Employing heat or oven paint drying techniques for special purpose finishes
- Following company requirements to select and match paint colours within specified colour charts
- Maintaining stock levels of all items required for the completion of duties and minor maintenance
- Ensuring the facility and spray-painting equipment are in positive working condition
- Managing OH&S; and environmental hazards in the paint bay and workplace
- Actively involved in housekeeping and spraying of basic contact adhesives
- Using basic hand tools
- other associated tasks including helping elsewhere in the factory when required
