About the role

Join a major Queensland Government transformation program and help shape a modern data and AI capability from the ground up. This is a senior architecture role focused on enterprise data platforms, lakehouse architecture, AI capabilities and secure data sharing across multiple government agencies. You'll help define the architecture for a high-profile intelligence and analytics platform, with a robust focus on Azure, modern data platforms and responsible AI.

Key Responsibilities

- Define target-state data, AI and platform architecture
n
- Design scalable Azure-based data and lakehouse solutions
n
- Establish data governance, security, integration and architecture standards
n
- Guide AI and analytics capabilities across the broader technology roadmap
n
- Lead architecture workshops, design reviews and technical decision-making
n

n

Highly desirable criteria

n

n
- Hold extensive experience as a Data Architect, AI Architect or Solution Architect
n
- Demonstrate strong Azure data platform and lakehouse architecture experience
n
- Apply modern data, AI,



governance and integration architecture patterns
n
- Deliver architecture within complex government or highly regulated environments
n
- Communicate confidently with senior executives and technical stakeholders
n

Desirable criteria

- Bring Queensland Government or broader Australian Government experience
n
- Apply Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Synapse or Azure Data Lake
n
- Understand responsible AI, data governance and enterprise security
n
- Hold relevant cloud, data or architecture certifications

Skills and experience

- Lead enterprise data and AI architecture across complex transformation programs

- Design Azure, lakehouse, analytics and data integration solutions

- Apply data governance, security, privacy and architecture assurance principles
n
- Translate business objectives into practical, scalable technology solutions
n
- Produce architecture roadmaps, HLDs, LLDs, ADRs and design documentation
