Senior Financial Analyst
Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency

Infrastructure Canberra is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the Finance team within the Office of the Director-General. Working closely with business areas across the directorate, you will play a key role in supporting financial management, governance and decision‑making through the delivery of high‑quality financial reporting, analysis and advice.

The team works collaboratively with stakeholders across Infrastructure Canberra to ensure sound financial management practices, effective budget monitoring and compliance with the Financial Management Act 1996. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will contribute to financial reporting, budget development, cash flow forecasting, reconciliations, performance analysis, cost modelling and continuous improvement initiatives that support the delivery of the Directorate's strategic objectives.

We're looking for professionals with:

- Experience preparing accrual‑based financial reports, budgets and management reporting in a complex business environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile, interpret and communicate financial and non‑financial information to support decision‑making.
- Experience using financial management systems, reporting tools and data analytics platforms, including TM1, Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
- Well‑developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to explain financial information to non‑financial audiences and build effective working relationships.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or auditing are highly desirable.
- Membership of, or progress towards membership of, a recognised professional accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) is highly desirable.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of six months with the possibility of extension up to 12 monthsand/or permanency.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill similar vacancies over the next 12 months.

Where an offer of employment is for a fixed‑term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.
