Role Description

This full-time, on-site Senior Personal Injury Lawyer - Workers Compensation role is based in Parramatta, NSW. The role involves managing a portfolio of workers compensation and personal injury matters from initial consultation through to resolution, including advising clients, developing case strategies, and representing them in negotiations and court proceedings. The lawyer will draft and review legal documents, assess claims, gather and analyse evidence, and liaise with medical experts, insurers, and other stakeholders. The role includes mentoring junior lawyers and support staff, contributing to process improvements, and upholding One Law’s client-centered, holistic approach. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain high professional standards, ensure compliance with relevant legislation,



and work collaboratively with the broader team to achieve strong outcomes for clients.

Qualifications

- Extensive experience in personal injury and workers compensation law, including managing complex claims and appearing before relevant courts and tribunals.
- Robust legal research, analytical, and case strategy skills, with the ability to interpret legislation, case law, and medical and financial evidence.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting pleadings, submissions, correspondence, and clear client advice.
- Demonstrated client service skills, with a compassionate, empathetic approach and the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse clients.
- Proven negotiation and advocacy abilities, including experience in settlement discussions, mediations, and litigation.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior practitioners and support staff, and to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary legal team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to handle multiple matters, meet deadlines, and maintain accurate file management.
- Current legal practicing certificate and admission as a lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction; specialist accreditation in personal injury or workers compensation law is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with legal practice management systems and standard office software; willingness to adopt new technologies and processes.
