The role

We are looking for an experienced irrigation and pump professional to join our retail team.

This is a customer-focused role working primarily at our retail and trade counter, using your technical knowledge to help customers select the right products and solutions for their needs.

To be successful in this role, you will need practical experience and strong working knowledge of irrigation systems, pumps and related water products. We need someone who can confidently discuss customer applications, identify suitable products, troubleshoot common issues and provide informed technical advice. Ongoing product training will be provided to support and extend your existing knowledge.

Your day could involve helping a homeowner solve an irrigation problem, advising a farmer or tradesperson on pump or pipe selection, answering a technical enquiry over the phone, booking a pump in for repair, preparing a customer order, following up on product availability and assisting with stock and warehouse operations when required.

What you’ll be doing

- Serve customers at our retail and trade counter
- Assist customers with product enquiries,



technical advice and product selection
- Answer incoming customer enquiries by telephone and in person
- Provide knowledgeable advice across irrigation, pumps, pipe, fittings, filtration and water products
- Prepare customer quotes and sales orders
- Process retail sales and payments
- Follow up customer enquiries and outstanding quotes
- Check product availability and advise customers of expected arrival times
- Arrange customer orders and special-order products
- Book pumps and equipment in for repair
- Communicate with customers regarding repairs and service enquiries
- Assist with warranty and product return enquiries
- Maintain customer records and sales information accurately
- Help keep retail displays stocked, organised and well presented
- Assist with day-to-day stock control and product availability
- Support warehouse operations as required, including receiving, checking and putting away incoming stock
- Pick and prepare customer orders, stock transfers and items for collection or delivery
- Assist with stock counts and maintaining accurate, organised stock locations
- Help maintain a clean, safe and well-organised warehouse and storage area
- Liaise with suppliers when required to obtain product information, pricing and availability
- Work closely with our service and project teams on larger or more complex technical enquiries
- Maintain and expand your technical product knowledge through ongoing training
- Build positive relationships with our retail, trade and commercial customers

About you

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys dealing with customers and already has solid practical knowledge of irrigation and pumps.



You will be comfortable working in a busy retail workplace and confident providing technical advice to a broad range of customers.

You will have:

- Demonstrated experience working with irrigation systems and pumps
- Strong working knowledge of irrigation components, pump applications, pipe, fittings and related water products
- Friendly and confident communication
- Good telephone manner
- Ability to listen to customers, understand their application and recommend an appropriate solution
- Good attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Confidence using computers and learning new systems
- Experience using point-of-sale, ERP or inventory systems would be an advantage
- Ability to use Microsoft Teams, Outlook and other workplace communication tools
- Strong customer service skills and a willingness to continue developing your product knowledge
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to the team
- A practical, technically minded approach to problem solving
- Willingness to assist with stock handling and general warehouse duties as part of the wider team
- Reliability and a positive attitude

Previous irrigation and pump industry experience is essential. Experience in plumbing, hardware, rural supplies, water treatment or a trade-based retail environment would also be highly regarded.

We need someone who can bring useful technical knowledge to the role from day one while continuing to build their expertise through ongoing training and manufacturer support.
