Spare Parts Interpreter

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Spare Parts Interpreter to join a well-established and growing business in Dandenong South.

This is a hands-on and varied role working closely with technicians, customers and suppliers to identify, source and manage the parts required to keep a busy workshop operating efficiently.

You don't need experience with every product in the range - training will be provided. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience across trucks and trailers, refrigeration, HVAC, industrial equipment or technical parts.

What You'll Be Doing

- Interpret parts requirements from technicians, customers and workshop staff

- Identify the correct parts using catalogues, manuals, diagrams and technical information

- Source parts from local and interstate suppliers

- Request pricing, availability and lead times

- Raise and manage purchase orders

- Monitor orders, backorders and supplier deliveries

- Maintain stock levels across approximately 500–700 SKUs

- Receive, check and put away incoming stock

- Pick and prepare parts for technicians and customers

- Assist with stocktakes and inventory control

- Process parts invoices and maintain accurate system records

- Assist customers with parts enquiries via phone and email

- Help technicians source difficult-to-find components

- Keep the parts area organised, clean and safe

- Complete occasional parts deliveries and collections when required

- Operate a counterbalance forklift to load and unload pallets of parts and assist with truck arrivals

What We're Looking For





We’re looking for someone with strong parts experience, mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn.

Your background could include:

- Spare Parts Interpreter

- Heavy Vehicle / Truck & Trailer Parts

- Workshop Parts Coordinator

- Transport Refrigeration

- HVAC or Mechanical Parts

- Technical Parts / Industrial Equipment

Direct transport refrigeration experience is advantageous but not essential.

If you have robust transferable parts experience and can confidently identify, source and manage technical components, the team is happy to provide training on their specific products and systems.

Skills & Experience

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

- Previous experience in spare parts, parts sales, purchasing, inventory or a technical environment

- Strong mechanical aptitude

- Ability to interpret parts manuals, catalogues and diagrams

- Experience sourcing parts from suppliers

- Understanding of purchase orders, stock control and invoicing

- Good computer and systems skills

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Ability to manage multiple parts requirements at once

- Current Australian driver's licence

- Current LF Forklift licence

- Minimum 1 year's counterbalance forklift experience

Training Provided

You don't need to know everything from day one.

The business is prepared to provide training on its products, systems and processes. For the right candidate, training may include an experienced team member travelling to Melbourne for 1–2 weeks, or potentially travelling to Brisbane for approximately one week of training and shadowing.

Please note: Previous Spare Parts Interpreting experience is essential.
