Hume Anglican Grammar is a multi-campus co-educational Anglican Diocesan School offering education from Prep to Year 12 in the Northern growth corridor of Melbourne.

Hume has an open enrolment policy so educates children from many faiths and with a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.

TheSchoolaspires to develop young people who are kind, creative, inquiring, socially and emotionally at ease, and who strive to achieve their personal best in all their endeavours.

With campuses already in Mickleham, Donnybrook and Kalkallo, the School has announced its acquisition of a 10-hectare parcel of land in Wollert for its fourth campus planned to open in 2033. This campus will comprise another two Primary schools and a Secondary school and when it reaches its capacity, will enrol over 2,500 students.In all, Hume Anglican Grammar willultimately educateover 6,000 students.

As one of Victoria’s fastest growing schools, it is expected to be one of the largest non-government schools in the state, with plans for further expansion.

About the role:

The teacher role is ongoing (1.0 FTE),



and the Position of Responsibility is a three-year fixed-term position commencing on Monday, 25 January 2027. This position will be based at our Kalkallo Campus, with a leadership allowance at Level 1 and a 0.4 time release.

The purpose of theTeacherLibrarianis toenhance and support theteaching and learning program ofHume Anglican Grammar communitythrough the leadership ofthe Learning Resource Centre,the development of information and digital literacyand the promotionofreading,inquiry and lifelong learning.TheTeacherLibrarianworkscollaboratively with staff todesign and deliverlearning experiences that develop students as curious,capable and independent learners who can locate, evaluate,create and communicateeffectivelyin an increasinglycomplex world.

TheTeacher Librariancollaborateswith teachers, Head of Teaching and Learning, the Head ofCampus,Heads of Curriculum, Subject Coordinators, and the Assistant Director of Teaching and Learningto design and deliver effectivelibrary, literacy, informationliteracyand digital citizenship programs. They will also workclosely andcollegiallywith Teacher Librariansacrossother campusesto support consistent and high-quality information service.

The Teacher Librarian supports theSchool’sVisionfor Teaching and Learningby developing the Learning Resource Centreas a welcoming and dynamic hub for reading, research,



collaboration,creativityand inquiry.Through effective library services, resource managementandcurriculum partnerships, the Teacher Librariancontributesto the development ofconfident readers, criticalthinkersandlifelong learners.

Asaninformation specialistand educator,the Teacher Librarianplaysa key role infosteringa culture ofreading,teaching informationliteracyand researchskills,supportingresponsible digital citizenship, and ensuring students and staff have access to high-quality resources and learning experiences.

On occasion, the Teacher Librarianwillbe requiredto travel to the othercampuses of theSchoolin their private vehicle,so a valid driver’s licence is essential.

Requirements of the Role:

- Full Victorian Institute of Teachingregistration
- A strong understanding ofthedigital and information literacies curriculum
- Demonstrated knowledge oftherequirementsof a library in an educational setting
- Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with young people, with the knowledge and ability to support student achievement
- Wide knowledgeof literaturewiththe ability to promote and foster avibrant and positivereading cultureacrossthe Prep to Year 12 spectrum
- Demonstrated knowledge of current and emerging technologies, their application within a school library and capacity to develop opportunities for enhancing student learning through their use
- Excellent organisational and management skills and experience in delivering a high standard of library services to meet the needs of students and staff
- ValidDriver’sLicence
