About the opportunity

Our Client is a long-established residential aged care provider with strong roots in the Newcastle community. They are looking for an experienced Clinical Leader to take responsibility for clinical care across a large residential aged care home.

n

Importantly, you'll be joining a home with a stable Registered Nurse workforce and limited agency use, allowing you to spend more time developing your team, strengthening clinical practice and improving resident outcomes.

n

You'll work closely with the Facility Manager and have the support of a Clinical Care Coordinator beneath you, creating a clear management structure across the home.

The role

n

This is a visible clinical leadership position with a solid focus on clinical governance, staff development and quality improvement. Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Leading and supporting Registered Nurses and care teams
n
- Mentoring and developing the Clinical Care Coordinator
n
- Overseeing resident assessments, care planning and clinical reviews
n
- Monitoring clinical indicators, incidents, risks and resident outcomes
n
- Supporting AN-ACC and accurate clinical documentation
n
- Leading clinical audits and continuous improvement initiatives
n
- Maintaining strong medication management and clinical governance
n




- Supporting accreditation readiness and regulatory compliance
n
- Building robust relationships with residents, families, GPs and allied health
n
- Working closely with the Facility Manager to maintain a positive team culture
n

About you

n

You'll be an approachable and confident clinical leader who can maintain high standards while still bringing people along with you.

n

You'll ideally bring:

n

n
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
n
- Strong residential aged care experience
n
- Previous clinical leadership or management experience
n
- Sound knowledge of clinical governance and care planning
n
- Experience with AN-ACC, audits and continuous improvement
n
- Strong coaching, mentoring and performance management skills
n
- Confidence managing clinical risk, compliance and quality
n
