Graduate - Environmental Water and Wetlands Project Officer

The Goulburn Broken Catchment Management Authority (GB CMA) is seeking a passionate and motivated Environmental Water and Wetlands Graduate to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in environmental water and wetland management while working alongside experienced professionals delivering significant environmental outcomes across the Goulburn Broken catchment.

Role: As an Environmental Water and Wetlands Graduate, you will support the planning, delivery, monitoring and reporting of environmental water and wetland programs while developing practical skills and experience across a diverse range of natural resource management activities.

- Environmental water and wetland project delivery
- Field monitoring and data collection
- Environmental reporting and data management
- Stakeholder and community engagement activities
- Environmental program planning and delivery support

At GB CMA, your primary focus will be environmental water and wetland management, but you will also have opportunities to learn from and work alongside staff across other program areas, including waterways, biodiversity, floodplain management, and sustainable agriculture. You will be supported through mentoring, professional development, and on-the-job learning designed to build your technical capability and project management skills.

About you:

- A completed tertiary qualification, or be eligible to graduate prior to commencement, in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Water Management, or a related discipline.
- A genuine interest in environmental water, wetlands, waterways, and regional natural resource management.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.




- A willingness to undertake fieldwork and travel throughout the catchment.
- A current Victorian Driver Licence, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.

Exposure through study, placements, volunteering or employment in areas such as ecological monitoring, GIS, project support, or community engagement will be highly regarded.

This position is being offered as a 12-month fixed-term opportunity to support project delivery and workforce transition requirements within the Environmental Water team. Graduates who demonstrate strong performance may have opportunities to contribute to other funded projects. Subject to ongoing program funding and organisational needs, further fixed-term employment opportunities may become available.
