Pain Matrix is a multidisciplinary pain management service dedicated to supporting people living with persistent pain. Our team includes Pain Specialists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Nursing staff who work collaboratively to provide evidence-based, person-centred care.

We take a holistic and functional approach to pain Management, with a strong focus on education, self-management, functional restoration and helping people achieve meaningful improvements in their everyday lives.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Psychologist to join our growing multidisciplinary team.

This is an excellent chance for a clinician who enjoys collaborative healthcare and is interested in working with people experiencing complex and persistent pain presentations.

Employment Type: Permanent ongoing part-time

Hours: 0.4 – 0.6 FTE

Days: Mondays and Fridays required; additional days negotiable

Salary: $70 - $80 per hour + superannuation
We offer flexibility around the span of hours and are open to discussing arrangements what suit the right clinician.

You will work closely with Pain Specialists and allied health clinicians to provide individual and group-based psychological interventions. The role will involve supporting clients to develop practical strategies for managing pain, improving function and building confidence in their ability to self-manage.

The caseload will include a combination of private patients and third-party patients, including WorkCover and TAC clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide psychological assessment and evidence-based treatment for people experiencing persistent pain.
- Develop and implement individual treatment plans within a multidisciplinary framework.
- Work collaboratively with Pain Specialists and allied health clinicians to support coordinated patient care.
- Facilitate group-based education and psychological intervention sessions.




- Support clients to develop effective pain management, pacing and self-management strategies.
- Assist clients to improve psychological wellbeing, confidence and functional outcomes.
- Contribute to case discussions and multidisciplinary care planning.
- Maintain high-quality clinical documentation and professional standards.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive and team-oriented clinical culture.

Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist.

Full working rights in Australia.

Strong interest in multidisciplinary healthcare and collaborative practice.

Ability to work independently while actively contributing to a collaborative team environment.

Robust communication and interpersonal skills.

Commitment to evidence-based, person-centred care.

Experience or interest in any of the following would be advantageous:

- Rehabilitation psychology.
- Trauma-informed care.
- Complex or chronic health conditions.
- WorkCover, TAC or other third-party funded patients.
- Group-based psychological or educational interventions.

Experience in plain management is not essential. We are particularly interested in clinicians who are curious, collaborative and motivated to develop their skills in this area.
